GESTURES OF ECONOMY

A regiment of Guards has marked the epoch of patriotic economy by marching, amidst popular applause, from Aldershot to Windsor. This fine gesture has commended itself to all but " our hard-hit railways." One of the many unsolved problems of the moment is how to spend no money without harming those on whom we don't spend it. In this matter a true citizen has the right to hurt none but himself.
