Two GOOD INSURANCE REPORTS.
The latest Report of the Conamercial Union Assurance Company shows that the Company achieved very successful results in 1934. From the Fire Account £475,000 was trans- ferred to the credit of Profit and Loss, £150,000 from the Marine, £100,000 from Accident, and £92,741 from the Lift Department. In .the Fire Account, against a Premium Income - of X5,374,820, the actual underwriting profit was £442,305, or 8.23 per cent. of premiums, and the slightly larger transfer to Profit and Loss results in a corresponding reduction of the "Additional Reserve," still leaving that Fund, however, at the very large total of £4,725,825.
