It appears that in Hesse Cassel, the office of Censor
of the Press has become so generally odious, that no one can be found to fill it. On the 28th of last month, the Minister, in pressing upon the States the necessity of agreeing to the new law for removing the censorship, urged as a reason, that it was no longer possible to find instruments -for putting the old in execution. The papers were proposed to be suppressed entirely for two or three weeks, while the States were deliberating : a singular expedient, it must be confessed!
