Sir: I do not wish to detract in any way from the records of 'Sir' Peregrine Wors- thorne or Bernard Levin (Survivors, 27 July), but for the record I should point out that I was Air Transport Correspondent of the Journal of Commerce and Shipping Telegraph from January 1954 until the collapse of the paper in May this year. In that time I only missed two of my weekly columns. James Stuart was about level, having been Air Correspondent of the Evening Standard from 1942 until 1972.
