Another revolution appears to be spreading in Spain, more rapidly
than that which displaced ESPARTERO. Barcelona, the focus of revolutionary power, is at open war with the Goverap meat which it has just helped to-instal: Pant occupies a post without the city, and his troops hold the citadel and Montjuich ; but the town itself seeing to be altarther armed against the Go- vernment. The chief diftlirence is, that the discreet ECRALECU no longer holds the fort of Montjuich ; and thepresent commandant has turned its guns against the town. Seville, that acquired the title of " invicta " from its repulsing Est'ARTERO to the last, is one of the first to turn round upon the rulers for whom it then fought. And many of the names of towns that were so rapidly added to the list of places that rose against the Regent are now added to an increasing gazetteer of the new revolution. The main point at issue, according to the Barcelona Junta, is, that SERRANO promised that there should be a National Convention to sanction and remodel the new Government; whereas his colleagues have violated that pledge, and committed the most despotic acts in the power u hich they have without licence usurped. Whatever the merits of the dispute, the reaction begins to look serious.
