The first of the series of performances annually given by
Dr. Wylde, under the denomination of the New Philharmonic Concerts,' took place on Monday evening at St. James's Hall. It was a very
agreeable entertainment. The principal pieces were Beethoven's overture to Egmont, a symphony by Schubert, Mendelssohn's violin concerto played by Vieuxtemps, Weber's pianoforte concerto in E flat played by Miss Arabella Goddard, and two airs sung by Madame Sherrington :—excellent music, well performed.
