Boy and Girl : Should They be Baueated Together? By
" Vivian Grey" and Edward S. Tylee. (Simpkin, Marshall, and Co. ls. net.)—The authors of this pamphlet state the case for coeduca... tion, and we are inclined to be content with saying so much. Obviously it is too serious a question to be discussed in a few lines. If there is to be a change, it will come very slowly. History makes one doubt whether so far-reaching a revolution will ever be made at all. Our impression, wholly a priori, it should be said, is that it would on the whole be a better thing for the boy than the girl. Of course, coeducation in primary schools already exists in the majority of rural parishes. It would be interesting to have a conspectus of teachers' experiences. In secondary schools, so far, there has been but little experience. It will certainly, in any case, be worth while to read what " Vivian Grey" and Mr. Tylee have to say on the subject.
