We have a letter direct from Rome, written on the
5th; interesting, but too log and too late for our first edition. The writer describes the hostilities as he views
them from the Pincian conflict was outside the walla, and decidedly slacker than it was on Sunday (the 3d). " We hear cannon, but little musket firing": " meantime within we are tranquil and orderly as usual—the shops open, the cafes occupied, the streets not empty."
