Five unclued lights (1A, 11, 35, 38, 41) were anagrams of SNARK, while the remaining five (15A, 4D, 13, 20, 32) and those clued without defini- tion (4A, 15D, 19) were members of the crew who hunted it in Lewis Carroll's poem.
