No one, of course, would dare complain Of scrapping the Lord Chamberlain. And all of us are glad to see
Speech on the stage at last is free. Nothing indeed is more absurd Than banning the four-letter word, And, if they want to, why the hell Should they not copulate as well? And should the honest playwright fear To show an actor as a queer?
Yet wouldn't it be rather fun If sometimes something else was done Or if some words were sometimes said Beside the eternal 'So to bed'?
