Enver Pasha, the Turkish Minister of War, has taken the
barbarous course of sending British subjects and French citizens from Constantinople to Gallipoli, which is being bombarded by the Allies. Sir Edward Grey has informed the Turkish Government through the American Embassy that if harm comes to these men the British Government will hold Enver Pasha, the Grand Vizier, Prince Said Halim, the members of the Turkish Government, and the military authorities personally responsible. The twenty-six British subjects and twenty-four French citizens shipped to Gallipoli are still on board the steamer.
