Smaller than life
Sir: Alan Watkins got George Brown and the cartoonists the wrong way round (Diary, 8 June). I remember at a dinner of the Association of British Cartoonists where George Brown was chief guest, at the coffee and brandy he stood up to address a few words, and instead of haran- guing the assembly with accusations that they were politically naive or that they misrepresented his political views, all he could blast us with was, 'Why do you always caricature me as a small man — I am not a small man, look at me, am I small?'
