Queen Victoria, an article in the Spectator ended with the words: " When she died there was not a subject within Britain or the white Colonies who could recollect without a sob in his throat that he would never again sing or hear ' God save the Queen' " I was a girl of twenty at the time, and can recall very clearly the impression of those momentous days.
