Errata
Sir: The omission of a short sentence in my review made utter nonsense of what followed. What I said was, 'Oliver Cromwell had no such illusions (i.e. as Charles I). On the other hand, he (i.e. Cromwell) left no such legacy in the arts.'
I well understand that in our delightful society, with its care for culture, it is impossible to send an author a proof. But also I know well from experience that no ordinary human can ever be trusted to correct a proof. So:— for • inconography,' read 'iconography,' and for 'Adenaur' read 'Adenauer.'
