I did not hear the broadcast given a few nights
ago by Mr. Tone Wold, the Norwegian Minister of Justice, on his recent visit to-,the liberated northern districts of Norway, but from other sources I gather that heOhas brought back impressions of singular interest. His testimony to the behaviour of the Russian troops is remarkable. They have orders not to billet themselves in any Norwegian house or disturb the occupants in any way, and they accordingly lie down quite cheerfully and sleep in the snow. Among other Norwegians Mr. Wold met was his own wife, who remained in Norway when he originally got away to England. She could have come back to England with him now, but with great resolution she has decided to stay where she is, living in a liberated instead of an occupied area, and with new opportunities for public service opened up.
