Stories of Young Adventurers, by Ascott R. Hope (Hogg), though
not a book of this year, may be mentioned, if it should have hap- pened to have escaped the notice of our readers, as :full of interest- ing reading. These "young adventurers " take us to all parts of the world. One of them gets to Mecca ; another is taken prisoner in Braddock's unlucky expedition ; a third falls into the hands of Hyder Ali. One story tells again the terrible tale of the wreck of the ' Medusa.' As interesting as any is the story of the English lad who was adopted by Maoris.
