SIR,—I would like to thank you for publishing the letter
from Mr. de la Bedoyere in which he says that to prevent the birth of a deformed baby 'is a spit in the face of Almighty God.' It is good that we should all be frequently reminded what Christians believe.
A Pope once abolished street lighting in Rome because he thought it against the Will of God. For the same 'reason' Christians fought against inocula- tion and anxsthetics; and in a world threatened with standing-room only and every other God-created creature driven into extinctisn. Christian, Hindu and other religious opinion prevents the UN from even discussing birth control.
I hope you will publish mors letters from people like Mr. de la Bedoyere so that the millions of on- avowed humanists in this country may perceive the nature of the enemy which has to be destroyed before man can take his destiny into his own hands and finally cast out the barbarous deities of the past.
