Low flying
Sir: So the Ministry of Defence do what they can 'to alleviate the problems' of low-flying aircraft 'by spreading the burden around as fairly as possible' (Letters, 30 September). But that begs the whole question. Do MOD do it fairly? And anyway, how can we tell? It seems to me that the people who should judge are those affected. How about the MOD publishing a map showing how much low flying of military aircraft takes place everywhere in Great Britain? The public, and not some RAF boffins, can then say whether it looks fair or not.
I have to declare an interest; when it's good for flying our home is attacked by Jaguars, or something, six times a day — and we don't think it's fair.
