I sometimes read the lessons in a country church. A

Sunday or two ago, as I went to the lectern, a very juvenile infant (I am told) asked in a whisper well audible over the back of the church, " Is that God ? " The answer could not be an unqualified affirma- tive ; but I can understand the mistake.
