Would lull the members into deep

Refreshing and untroubled sleep..

It didn't Matter, so it seems,

They all had such delightful dreams. On one Occasion, I must own,

His voice took on a sterner tone;

The House, if I remember right, Discussed our economic plight,

And this time, as Sir Francis spoke,

They all had nightmares. When they woke,

So shocked were they, they set aside All party differences and tried To work together. This, I think, Pulled back the nation from the brink.

That's long ago. I take the view
