I quoted last week the Colonial Secretary's statement in the
House of Commons that between 1922 and 1944 the number of Jews who emigrated from this country to Palestine was 2,482, which, I observed, was at the rate of little more than too a year. On that it is pointed out—quite justly—that from September, 1939, onwards there has been no emigration from Great Britain to Palestine ; the average, therefore, would be between 140 and 15o a year. I am glad to make this clear—though it does not affect the main argument much. * * * *
