[To THE EDITOR or THE " SPEcrnoa."] Sia,—The inauguration of the Lincoln statue at Westminster on July 28th was, by general consent, one of the most memorable days in the history of Anglo-American relations. This society, through whom the gift was made, and which was responsible for all the arrangements, is seeking to raise a sum of 41,000 to discharge various obligations connected with the event and in continuation of its work. A generous supporter, Mrs. Victoria Woodhull Martin, has promised £1,000 conditionally upon at least an equal amount being raised by subscription.
