I am not surprised that the singular proposal of the
Derbyshire Education Committee to establish a school for climbers in a mansion at Buxton purchased, it is said, for £17,000, should be severely criticised by the Buxton Liberal Association. The figure mentioned is, of course, only the cost of acquiring the building. What the cost of running the school, and what its purpose, remain to be dis- closed. On those points, it may be assumed, Derbyshire ratepayers will have enquiries to make. So, L should hope, will the Minister of Education. There may be some good explanation ; the need for
