THE ARGENTINE REVOLUTION.

Revolutions and a rise in prices are not usually associated ; nevertheless, the fact remains that the latest developments in Argentina have been well received on the Stock Exchange. It had been known for some weeks past that conditions in the country were thoroughly unsettled, and that procrastination on the part of the ex-President had led to considerable con- fusion in the conduct of public affairs. The new President, General Uriburu, appears to enjoy a high reputation in Argentina, while many of the members of the new Provisional Cabinet are well known, both in Argentina and this country. That the Argentine Exchange should have improved during the past week and that Argentine securities should have shown the firmer tendency sufficiently expresses the views

of the City with regard to the whole affair. A. W. K.
