We owe a line of sincere apology to our contemporary
the Observer. Last week's Spectator contained a note on M. Yves Guyot's article on the betrayal of Free-trade which was based upon a summary contained in the Observer. Unfortunately by an oversight we failed to give the Observer as our authority. Our annoyance at this lapse is all the greater as it is entirely, at variance with our regular habit. We are entirely at one with the Observer in its declaration that we ought "to confess our sources when we borrow from them."
