There. are to be extensions of all the measures directed
towards increasing employment ; and a long section of the Speech dealt with housing and the slums, and with the importance of ownership. Upon the subject of insurance, it was stated that Ministers were inquiring into the possibility of combining with existing schemes of insurance provisions for improving old-age pensions and pensions for widowed mothers.
