Mr. Hibbert has been appointed to the Secretaryship of the

Treasury vacant by Mr. Courtney's resignation, and Mr. Henry Fowler will succeed Mr. Hibbert as Under-Secretary to the Home Office. By this appointment the Government gain a strong man, and a speaker of considerable power.
