2nd ordinary general meeting of the Wellman Smith Owen ineering Corporation, Limited, was held on September 3rd at ztoria Station House, London, S.W.t. sir Samuel Roberts, Bt. chairman, presided. . The directors' report and accounts were taken as read, together fl eirculat letter to the shareholders, reading as follows:—
- In the present circumstances I do not propose to amplify the port and accounts that are enclosed herewith at the annual general ectiog, which you will note is to be held on September 2nd for the -pose of passing the necessary formal resolutions, unless there are
v shareholders who have any questions to ask on the accounts, which case I shall, of course, do my best to reply.
DIVIDEND AND CASH BONUS MAINTAINED
The trading profits for the year, after making provision for taxa- , permit the distribution of a final dividend and cash bonus the same rate as for the preceding year, with a small in-Tease in e amount carried forward.
For the present I give you my assurance that your directors are only doing their utmost to fostez the company's interests, but are, the same time, taking every precaution that the plant, machinery, adwill, &c., are kept in such a state of perfection that when peace entually comes the Wellman Smith Owen Engineering Corporation, mired, will be able to take its proper place in the legitimate trade reconstruction of the country.
"The management and staff are working under great strain and e thanks of the shareholders are .due to them."
The report and accounts were unanimously adooted and a final idend of 5 per cent. (making to per cent, for the year) and cash us of 21 per cent. (less income-tax) were declared..
