NAVAL GAZETTE. ADMIRALTY, May 5.-The following promotions, dated the 2d

inst. have this day taken place, consequent on the decease, on the 1st inst. of Rear-Admiral of the White A. L. Corry-Rear-Admiral of the Blue the Hon. R. S. Hondas, C.B. to be Rear-Admiral of the White ; Capt. F. W. Pennell, Capt. W. A. B. Hamilton, Capt. E. Purcell, Capt. C. Elliot, to be Rear-Admirals on the Reserved Half-pay List; Capt. T. Bennett to be Rear-Admiral of the Blue. The following Captains on the Retired List hare also been promoted to be retired Rear-Admirals on the terms pro- posed in the London Gazette of the 1st Sept. 1840, without increase of pay-Capt. T. Jones, G. Lloyd.
