Spiritual sanity
Sir: I should like to thank you for the front page article 'Christmas lamentations' (December 22). The Spiritual sanity of its message is absolutely to the point, and it is so welcome to see this courageously expressed in the press.
Might I suggest that at some time you would invite an article on Divine Healing by a recognised authority in view of Mr. Beverley Nichol's article in the same edition, which could leave readers under the impression that all varieties of spiritual healing are fundamentally the same. With all good wishes for The Spectator in 1974.

Sir: As one who has in the past critices the 'permissive trend of some articles which have appeared in the Spectator may I say how much we appreciated your fine leading article 'Christmas Lamentations' in the December 22 issue with its timely reminder of the real meaning of Christmas — the failure of man and the need for faith in Christ.
May I also thank you for the regular weekly religious article in the 'Society today' section.
