4.,"public meeting was held in the Edinburgh Music-hall on Tuesday, to consider the working of the new Public-house Act. The Lord 'Provost presided; several eminent persons were present, andthe hall was crowded to excess, principally by the working desires., The speakers and the reso- lutions, which"passed -without opposition, testified to the useful operation of the Public-house Act, and deprecated any relaxation of it.
