NATURE RESERVES

SIR,—As a footnote to Professor Tansley's admirable article on Nature Reserves, will you allow me to mention that there exists a very active Society for the Promotion of Nature Reserves, of which the address is c/o British Museum, Cromwell Road, S.W. 7, and that it has lately published, under the title Nature Conservation in Great Britain, a report by the Nature Reserves Investigation Committee? This little pamphlet (price 6d.) provides an excellent outline of the aims and methods of Nature Conservation which deserves the attention of all interested in the subject.—Yours faithfully, W. T. CALMAN. " Willowbrae," Tayport, Fife, Scotland.
