(Id. net.)— The mimic to these old nursery rhymes is written with taste, but as the composer has generally adhered closely to the rhythm of the words, he inevitably brings himself into competition with well-remembered tunes. His best results are those where he has used the words with a certain freedom. The full-page black-and-white illustrations are cleverly and forcibly drawn.
