The Book of the Spiritual Life. By the late Lady
Dilke. With Memoir of the Author by Sir C. W. Mike. (John Murray. 10s. 61 net.)—Lady Dilke was a woman of many activities, of which the artistic, itself a curious ease of heredity, was the most developed. She showed a very early taste in this direction, and in after- life made considerable contributions to the literature of the subject. This part of the Memoir will be read with special interest. The examples of her literary work given in this volume, though displaying not a little power, do not leave an impression of spontaneity.
