The weddings of the Rothschilds are becoming State events and

the whole family appear to have attained a position some- where between that of peers and princes. The marriage of Miss Eve,li'na de Rothschild, second daugher of Baron Lionel, to Ferdinand, second son of Baron Anselm de Rothschild, of Vienna, was celebrated on Wednesday, in the presence of a circle such as few peers could gather together. The toast of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr. Disraeli, that of the foreign guests by the Duke of Somerset, and that of the bridesmaids by the Lord Chief Justice. The papers are full of the splendour of the scene, and some of them report the speeches at full length, we suppose with the permission of the family whose privacy is invaded. The only point in them worth repeating was the Duke of Somerset's, who said the family had succeeded where politicians lsad failed, and produced a "union of the n a- tions."
