The brother of Lord Aberdeen, Admiral Gordon, having accepted the
command at the Nore, it is anticipated he will retire from the representa- tion of Aberdeenshire. Lord Haddo, the son of the Premier, is spoken of as likely to obtain the vacant scat.
The Gazette of last night contains an Order in Council prohibiting the exportation of arms, munitions of war, and machinery, from the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
Mr. James Laurie is appointed to be one of her Majesty's Inspectors of Schools.
