CURRENT LITERATURE.
The editor of Time continues with considerable success to combine lightness with solidity in his table of contents, and the July number is a more than average example of the combination. It contains a serious little essay by Professor Munroe Smith on "The Domain of Political Science," while beside it is a cleverish but snippety skit on "Democracy." " Wanderer " makes some startling revelations as to Parnellite intimidation in Ireland at last General Election ; and Mr. Charles Marvin is very nearly as desirous that something should be done for the London Hospitals, as he is that something should be done against Russia in Central Asia. Perhaps the most readable papers in this number of Time, however, are a rather ghastly story of etnbalment, bearing the title "A House of Splendid Horrors ;" and an account of the remarkable Roman millionaire, Prince Torlonia.
