In the theatrical world there is every indication of a closing season. Novelties are scanty, benefits abundant, western managers and actors are starling in the northern and southern suburbs, and tonight the Hay- market, after remaining open for the extraordinary period of five years, will be added to the list of impenetrable edifices. There is, indeed, an announcement that on Saturday next, the 17th, the Lyceum will open for a short period, under the management of Mr. George Webster, but we are as yet in the dark as to the quality of attractions that will be offered.

The old story of the friendly recognition of the poet Ariosto by an intelligent bandit has been turned into a one-act comedy in verse, by M. C.
