SIR,—In the catalogue of the Paris furniture store quoted by " A Collector," offering as a suite " The sideboard, the shep- herd's food bag, &c.," the words " shepherd's food bag " are meant for footstool—French, tabouret. The ludicrous man looked in the dictionary and saw tabouret (bet.) shepherd's pouch (a plant). From shepherd's pouch to shepherd's food bag—il n'y a qu'un pas—un faux pas.
