The Court of Common Pleas having decided that where a
living has two patrons, one a Protestant and the other a Roman Catholic, the living shall remain only in the gift of' the Protestant, the Bishop of Exeter by this decision acquired the right of presentation to the living of Combepyne, Mr. Edwards, the other patron, being a Catholic ; and the Bishop has bestowed it upon the Reverend E. J. Todd, a Whig gentleman, totally unknown to his Lordship, and whose recommenda- tion for the preferment was the 'Willful and meritorious discharge of his duties as curate in the diocese.—Exeter Flying Post.
